Principal Investigators

The project team is made up of six Principal Investigators from the Universities of Leeds, Erasmus Rotterdam, Oslo, Heriot-Watt, St Andrews and Newcastle.

The project aims to produce the first comprehensive internationally based account of the cultural history of the European fashion business since 1945. Building on the previous research experience of the Principal Investigators, the research team will establish a permanent network of scholars who will work closely with industry and policy makers in the future.

The Principal Investigators have complementary skills in history and management, specializing in the history of enterprise, society, and culture, and in the study of the creative economy, international markets, and global business. The historians embrace the 'new business history' to study textiles, design, and fashion. The management scholars are from business schools that have strong links to the European business community and the creative sector.
