Laurence Meeuwis is enrolled in the third year bachelor programme of International Business Administration at Erasmus University Rotterdam, located in the Netherlands. Since 2015, she has been the president of the New Fashion Society. Currently, she is active in expanding NFS abroad, focusing on expanding to Edinburgh in 2016.

Wida Arian has completed the bachelor programme of International Business Administration at Erasmus University Rotterdam and is currently working as Junior Analyst at Royal Vopak. At the New Fashion Society she fulfils a role as the Treasurer & Secretary. Furthermore, she is actively involved in supporting the international expansion of the New Fashion Society.

Abstract

The New Fashion Society and its value to students, universities and the industry

The fashion industry is a topic left unaddressed by most business schools. This results in business students who have an interest in fashion, being unaware of the great possibilities that exist and it creates a gap between them and the industry. Wida and Laurence will give insights into the value of organisations such as the New Fashion Society (NFS). NFS aims at bridging the existing gap by linking business students to industry professionals through a variety of creative and educative events.
