Led by Principal Investigator Professor Barbara Townley, the St Andrews team made preparations for the commencement of their project on the role of traditional Scottish textiles in the international fashion business, due to begin in September 2014. In preparation, Townley undertook a literature review, began to develop a list of potential participants, and conducted an exploratory interview.
